The team behind VA Disability Hub
A small group of veterans and engineers who got tired of watching friends, family, and fellow vets struggle to make sense of the VA disability system. So we built something better — and made it free.
Our mission
The VA disability system is complicated by design. Regulations are dense, the math is counter-intuitive, and the information veterans need most is scattered across government PDFs that were never written for the people they affect.
VA Disability Hub takes the hard-to-find, hard-to-understand parts of the VA benefits process and makes them clear, accessible, and free — for every veteran, every time.
We believe the tools veterans need to understand their benefits should not cost anything. The combined-rating calculator is free, every guide is free, and they always will be.

How we work
The four principles every page on this site is built to follow.
Primary sources only
Every rating, dollar amount, and diagnostic code is sourced from 38 CFR, the Federal Register, VA.gov, or the M21-1 Adjudication Procedures Manual. No second-hand interpretation.
Independent review
Drafts are reviewed against the source before publication. When we update a page, the "Last updated" date moves with it — we never silently revise.
Built for veterans
The people on this site have skin in the game. Vets, family members of vets, and engineers who built the calculator from scratch using the actual regulation.
No paywalls, ever
The calculator is free. The guides are free. They always will be. If the site earns ad revenue, a percentage goes back to the veterans on this team.
Read the full editorial policy for sourcing, review, correction, and update procedures.
Not affiliated. Not sponsored. Not for sale.
VA Disability Hub is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or funded by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, any branch of the military, any law firm, or any paid claims service. We do not sell contact information. We do not earn referral commissions. We will never recommend a paid service over a free VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization.
The site may display contextual advertising through Google AdSense to cover hosting and research costs. Ads are clearly separated from editorial content and never influence what we write.
